At the Villa, Dario the Butcher, San Gimignano

A view of Pecelli where we are staying in Panzano. The top tower is our bedroom. The old Villa is split up into five apartments. Our is a tower bedroom. There are two apartments with four bedrooms where friends meet up for a week or two. We met some fun people from Fairhope, Alabama, four couples here for two weeks. They all have cabins in north Georgia as second homes. It sounds a lot like Cedar Crest.

Some views of the Villa.

Cassie and Mickey look out over the Vineyards owned by the Fondoti family which surround our villa. They make 300 thousand bottles of wine annually and own our villa . They gifted us with two bottles upon our arrival. Chianti Classico Reserva and not a bad wine at all.

In the kitchen. Casie and Mickey prepare a soup made up of the days gatherings at the local market. Short on meat but long on flavor.
Gelato in the piazza in Greve. Mickey has a sweet tooth to rival the best of them.

At our favorite local wine shop. Tom display's his favorite size. We had to quit going there cause it might look like we drink too much. Spreading our business amongst the local vendors.

The vineyards.

Sunday at the local market here in Panzano. The quality ans selection is incredible.

Dario, the famous butcher. He quotes Dante and sings opera, too.
Tom and Mickey at Dario's. Wine is flowing as is the Lardo. Lardo is big around here. Basically lard with seasoning. They like too spread it on toasted bread.
